Cardiff Bangladeshi Society

The Cardiff Bangladeshi Society (Formerly known As CBS) was formed in 2003 by using participatory action research approach. The group aims to bring representatives from all different groups and sections including gender, age, and social status, together to act as a balanced representation of the Bangladeshi community in Cardiff in order to identify and address the needs of the community.

Over the last few years CBS has started to deliver direct services to the community. Below are some examples of the activities we are run.
• Advocacy Sessions to reduce poverty and improve the quality of life
• Self Defence and Healthy Eating Session to improve the health of young people
• Homework Club to give the children the support they lack at home
• Pre GCSE Homework Club to give the young people the support to reach their full potential
• Over 50’s Women only Exercise Session to improve the health and wellbeing
• Older Peoples Conversational Class to reduce the reliance on others and live independently
• Football Club to encourage more participation in this sport
• Family Trips to promote integration and intergenerational activities
• Awareness Sessions for the Community on current issues as they present themselves
